Florida Man Pops The Question At AEROSMITH Concert
December 7, 2004Nicol Jenkins of BocaRatonNews.com reports: Usually when a man pops the question, he does it in a quiet, personal setting, but Randy Goldfarb wanted the whole world to know, including a rock star legend, how much love he has for Tara Chartan.
On April 3, 2004, AEROSMITH's Steven Tyler played cupid for the Boca Raton couple by allowing the engagement to take place backstage at his Ft. Lauderdale concert at the Office Depot Center.
Tara Chartan, 27, never imagined she would have two surprises that night — meeting a rock star and being asked a very important question.
"We got backstage passes before the show started because we were members of this fan club. I thought we were just going to see the dressing rooms and hang out with the other fan club members," said Chartan, who knew something was going on when Steven Tyler came out and said, "I need Tara, where's Tara, is she here?" and then, "Where's Randy? Don't you have something to tell this girl?"
Then Randy got on one knee with a rose in hand and started his proposal speech, "The first day I met you, one would not believe you came chasing after me. You’re beautiful, smart and sexy. In front of Steven, my family and friends, Tara will you marry me?"
Chartan said she was in so much shock that she froze and forgot to say yes.
"People were around saying, 'What's your answer?' Then, I woke up and said, 'Yes, of course I will,' and we kissed and Steven said, 'It doesn’t get any sweeter than this'," said Chartan, "It was the best day ever." Read more.
